Lone Wolf CRM Explained: Relationships, Front Office and What Happened to LionDesk

Part of our guide: Lone Wolf CRM Virtual Assistant

Yes, Lone Wolf is a CRM, but only in part. Lone Wolf started in 1989 as back office accounting software, and today it sells several CRM products, listed on its CRM page as Relationships, Front Office and Propertybase Salesforce Edition. Its transaction, accounting and CMA tools are separate products, and that is where most of the confusion starts.

We manage CRM work for agents and brokers, including a client who runs Lone Wolf, so this is the plain-language map we wish every new client had. Everything below about the product comes from Lone Wolf’s own pages or named news sources, dated as of October 2026. Where we are inferring, we say so.

Is Lone Wolf a CRM or something else?

Lone Wolf is a company with a suite of products, and the CRM is one part of it. According to Lone Wolf’s About page, the company was founded in 1989 with back office and accounting software for real estate, and it later added transaction tools (zipLogix, acquired in 2019) and other products.

In 2024 Lone Wolf launched what it calls Lone Wolf Foundation, a modular “industry cloud” that groups products such as Boost, Cloud CMA, Transact and Back Office. Relationships, the newest CRM, is described by Lone Wolf as part of Foundation. So when someone says “we use Lone Wolf,” ask which product, because it could mean a forms library, a brokerage accounting system or a CRM.

What are the three Lone Wolf CRM versions?

Lone Wolf’s CRM page presents three versions, each aimed at a different size of business. Pricing is not published on that page and we do not quote it. Lone Wolf asks you to request a demo or start a trial.

Version Who it fits (per Lone Wolf) What Lone Wolf says it includes Source
Relationships New agents who want a simple tool Contacts, pipeline tracking, follow-up reminders, email and text automations, templates, Google or Outlook sync lwolf.com/engage/crm and /engage/relationships
Front Office Growing agents and small teams Website, listings, lead capture and CRM together lwolf.com/engage/crm
Propertybase Salesforce Edition Enterprise users Salesforce-powered leads, listings, transactions and commissions lwolf.com/engage/crm

Relationships was announced on March 19, 2025, in a Lone Wolf press release. That release describes an AI email composer, automated follow-ups and open house reminders, a contact activity timeline and a tie-in to Foundation. Texting runs through an EZ Texting add-on, per Lone Wolf’s Relationships page, so check what your plan includes before promising clients text follow-up.

Which Lone Wolf products are not the CRM?

Several Lone Wolf products sit next to the CRM and are easy to mistake for it. They do different jobs, and a CRM login will not necessarily give you access to any of them.

  • Transactions (zipForm Edition and TransactionDesk Edition). Transaction management with forms, e-signature and file workflows, according to Lone Wolf’s product review. Many agents get these through their local association, so an agent can have Lone Wolf transaction tools and a completely different CRM.
  • Back Office. Brokerage accounting, commissions, trust and escrow, payroll and reporting, per lwolf.com. It is built for brokerages, not for an individual agent’s contact list.
  • Cloud CMA. Branded comparative market analysis reports, with automated home value updates called Homebeat, according to Lone Wolf. Lone Wolf says it connects to Front Office.
  • Boost. Digital ads on Facebook, Instagram and Google, per Lone Wolf. It also connects to Front Office.

The practical point: if a brokerage says “we run Lone Wolf,” a transaction coordinator may touch zipForm all day and never open the CRM. Scope any assistant’s access product by product. If transaction work is what you need, our transaction coordinator versus virtual assistant comparison covers the split.

What happened to LionDesk?

LionDesk, the CRM Lone Wolf bought in 2021, was announced for wind-down in May 2025, with customers moving to Relationships. Inman reported on May 16, 2025 that LionDesk would stay available through September 2025 to give customers time to migrate, and that Lone Wolf was offering accounts and transition support to Relationships. HousingWire reported the same day that the CRM would be discontinued.

Lone Wolf CEO Jimmy Kelly told Inman that LionDesk’s technical limitations kept it from scaling with the Foundation plan. Lone Wolf’s own Relationships post, dated March 19, 2025, describes the migration path as three steps: log into LionDesk, connect your Lone Wolf account, and migrate your contact data into Contacts. That post says contact data moves, and it does not say anything else does.

Here is what we could not verify. We found no Lone Wolf page stating an exact final shutdown date, and we could not load a LionDesk status notice. Several third-party sites describe LionDesk as shut down after September 2025, but those are not Lone Wolf. If you still have data in an old LionDesk account, confirm its status with Lone Wolf support before you assume anything is recoverable. Our migration checklist covers what to clean and verify either way.

Does Lone Wolf work with other CRMs?

Lone Wolf does not expect every customer to use its CRM. On its CRM page, Lone Wolf says you can connect Follow Up Boss to sync CRM data, and a June 2025 press release describes a two-way sync between Follow Up Boss and Lone Wolf Foundation covering transactions, marketing campaigns and client communications. That tells you the transaction and accounting side can work alongside another CRM.

Lone Wolf also launched an API portal in February 2026. The press release describes access for customers and partners, with free and paid access depending on use. The API list on the documentation site names products such as Transact, TransactionDesk, Back Office and ZipForm, and we did not see an API named for Relationships or Front Office. Treat any plan that depends on reading Relationships data programmatically as unconfirmed until Lone Wolf says otherwise in writing.

What can a virtual assistant do in Lone Wolf, and what can’t they?

A VA can do the repeatable CRM work that Lone Wolf’s documented features support. No vendor publishes a list of VA tasks, so the lists below are our inference from the feature descriptions, not a Lone Wolf statement.

What we would expect a trained VA to handle in Relationships:

  • Contact entry, duplicate cleanup, tagging and segmentation, and lead-source labeling
  • Pipeline stage hygiene, so deals sit where they actually are
  • Email and text templates, and follow-up automations built in the interface
  • Daily task follow-through: reminders, birthdays, check-ins
  • Pushing new leads in from forms and ad platforms with a tool like Zapier, which has a limited Lone Wolf Relationships action. We cover those limits in our Zapier setup guide

What is constrained or unconfirmed:

  • Custom scripting or workflow logic beyond what the interface offers
  • Pulling data out of Relationships automatically, since Zapier lists no triggers for the app
  • Bulk import by spreadsheet, and the setup of Zillow or Realtor.com lead connections. Lone Wolf names both as lead sources but we did not find step-by-step help articles, so confirm in Lone Wolf’s help center
  • Anything that needs licensed judgment, such as what to say to a borrower or how to interpret a contract

We would add one limit that no vendor page will tell you. A VA is only as good as the admin rights and the written process behind them. If nobody has decided what a “hot” lead is or which tags mean what, a skilled assistant will just organize the confusion faster.

What a Lone Wolf engagement looked like for one client

One of our clients, Griselda Espinoza, owner of Terranova Realty, is a broker and a real estate agent and also does mortgage, and her CRM is Lone Wolf. We manage her CRM records, run her social media marketing and ads, and run automations and workflows. We have no results or numbers to share, and we are not going to invent any. You can read the short write-up on her case study page, and we go through how we think about her kind of mixed practice in our post on managing a broker’s CRM, social media and ads.

Which Lone Wolf CRM should you pick?

Match the version to the work, not the brand. If you mainly need clean contacts and consistent follow-up, Relationships is the one Lone Wolf positions for that. If you also want your website and lead capture to feed the same system, look at Front Office. If you are an enterprise brokerage already comfortable with Salesforce, the Propertybase edition is the one Lone Wolf aims at you.

Lone Wolf may also be the wrong choice. If your team lives in a CRM with deeper lead-routing or automation tooling, or if you run high lead volume from ad platforms, compare options first. Our best CRM for real estate teams guide is a place to start. If you do land on Lone Wolf and want help running it day to day, our Lone Wolf CRM virtual assistant page explains how we work, and a free consult will scope it against your setup.

Frequently asked questions

Lone Wolf is a real estate technology company, not a single CRM. It sells CRM products, and as of October 2026 its CRM page lists Relationships, Front Office and Propertybase Salesforce Edition. It also sells transaction, accounting and CMA tools that are not CRMs.

Lone Wolf told Inman in May 2025 that LionDesk would stay available through September 2025 while customers moved to Relationships. We found no Lone Wolf notice giving a later date, so confirm the status of any old LionDesk account with Lone Wolf directly.

According to lwolf.com, Relationships is the simpler contact, pipeline and follow-up tool, while Front Office adds a website, listings and lead capture to the CRM for growing agents and small teams.

No. zipForm and TransactionDesk are Lone Wolf's transaction management products. They handle forms, e-signature and transaction files, not contact follow-up.

A VA can usually handle data entry, cleanup, tagging, templates and follow-up tasks inside the tools your login allows. Deep custom scripting is a different matter, so scope the work against what the product actually offers.
