kvCORE Virtual Assistant: Is It Now a BoldTrail Virtual Assistant?

Part of our guide: BoldTrail Virtual Assistant

Yes, a kvCORE virtual assistant is now a BoldTrail virtual assistant. Inside Real Estate rebranded kvCORE as BoldTrail in 2024, and the work a VA does in the platform is largely the same as before. If someone offers you kvCORE help, they mean BoldTrail.

The name confuses a lot of agents because many brokerages, vendors and Facebook groups still say kvCORE. Search traffic does too. Here is what actually happened.

What changed in the kvCORE to BoldTrail rebrand

According to Inman, Inside Real Estate announced the rebrand in an article dated June 20, 2024. The rollout happened over summer 2024. It was originally planned for spring, but an April security incident affecting BoomTown services delayed it, per the same reporting. Inman described kvCORE as a 16-year-old platform being retired. Inside Real Estate had acquired BoomTown in January 2023.

The parent company keeps the Inside Real Estate name. The applications carry BoldTrail names. BoldTrail’s own blog says kvCORE, BoomTown and Brokermint were unified under the new brand, and that existing kvCORE users migrate with their data preserved.

What stayed the same

According to BoldTrail, the core pieces carried over:

  • The CRM with behavioral automation.
  • Smart Campaigns, its AI-driven drip sequences.
  • Branded, MLS-integrated IDX websites, now with a drag-and-drop page editor.
  • Google and Facebook lead capture inside a Lead Engine.

It also lists new additions, including BoldTrail BackOffice, recruiting and retention tools, a unified dashboard and an add-on marketplace. We rely on the vendor for these descriptions, and features change often, so check your own account for what your plan includes.

What a kvCORE or BoldTrail VA does

The work is the same whichever name is on the login screen:

  • Cleaning, deduplicating and tagging the contact database.
  • Building and monitoring Smart Campaigns.
  • Following up with new and warm leads daily.
  • Producing branded email templates that work inside the platform.
  • Checking that lead sources are flowing into the CRM.

We go deeper on scope in our guide to what a BoldTrail virtual assistant can manage.

What this looked like for a client

The Faruqi Team at eXp Realty NY runs on BoldTrail. When they came to us, their 14,000-contact database was not being activated and the CRM was half set up. We rebuilt the tagging from scratch and segmented the contacts by relationship type and recency. That kind of work does not depend on the brand name. It depends on whether the structure underneath is sound. See the Faruqi Team case study for the whole picture. We also built an automation that imports their Facebook seller leads directly into BoldTrail and starts the email campaign, workflow and follow-ups (how that flow works), and the limits Smart Campaigns work within are covered in BoldTrail Smart Campaigns for seller leads.

Why people still say kvCORE

A 16-year-old product name does not disappear in a season. Brokerage training documents, YouTube tutorials, older VAs and many agents still say kvCORE, and plenty of job posts and freelancer profiles use it. When you hire, ask the person to describe what they would do in your account, not just which name they recognize. Someone who has worked in kvCORE will usually find BoldTrail familiar, since the core pieces carried over, but you should expect some new menus and tools.

It also helps to know which products you actually have. Because kvCORE, BoomTown and Brokermint were unified under one brand, your brokerage may have licensed a particular package. Check what is switched on before you scope anything.

How we scope a kvCORE account today

  1. We confirm which BoldTrail features and add-ons your plan includes.
  2. We audit tags, campaigns, lead sources and email setup.
  3. We fix the structure first, then build or update campaigns.
  4. We run daily follow-up and report weekly.

What the rebrand does not tell you

A new name says nothing about how well your own account is run. Neither Inman nor BoldTrail’s blog can tell you whether your tags are tidy, your campaigns are current or your leads are being contacted. We also have not verified specifics such as BoldTrail’s lead routing rules or its portal lead integrations from a primary source, so we would confirm those inside your account rather than assume them. The rebrand changed the logo and the packaging. The daily work of looking after contacts did not change at all, and that is where most of the value is.

Vendors usually describe new tools in the best light, so treat feature lists as a menu, not a promise. A VA who knows the platform can tell you which parts are worth switching on for your business and which you can ignore.

Should existing kvCORE users worry?

Not about the rename itself. The practical questions are different. Are your tags consistent after the migration? Are old campaigns still running? Did your lead-capture forms and landing pages come through intact? Are your email domain records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) in place? These are the places where a rebrand can quietly leave loose ends, and they are quick to audit.

If you have an old kvCORE account and want someone to check it over and run it, see our kvCORE virtual assistant page. A free consult will tell you what scope makes sense.
