A LionDesk virtual assistant helps you do three things: clean the contact database you already have, keep follow-up running while you decide what comes next, and migrate to a CRM that is still supported. LionDesk is being wound down by its owner, Lone Wolf, so most of the real work is protecting your data and your follow-up during a move.
What is the status of LionDesk?
Inman and HousingWire reported on May 16, 2025 that Lone Wolf would wind down LionDesk and keep it available through September 2025 so customers could move to Relationships. We could not find a later Lone Wolf notice with a firm shutdown date, and some third-party sites describe the product as already closed. Contact Lone Wolf support to confirm what your account can still do and export. Our Lone Wolf CRM overview explains the products LionDesk users are being pointed toward.
What a LionDesk VA does
- Takes a full export first. Every contact, with the fields you rely on, saved as a backup before anything changes.
- Merges duplicates and standardizes lead sources. One spelling per source so reports mean something.
- Rebuilds tag logic. Deletes dead tags and separates tags that describe the person from tags that describe the campaign.
- Protects unsubscribes and Do Not Call status. Suppression lists are kept and applied before any send or call.
- Keeps follow-up moving. Calls, texts and email tasks do not stop while the move is planned.
- Verifies after the move. Record counts, fields and a sample of contacts are checked against the export.
Where can LionDesk contacts go?
Lone Wolf documents a three-step path into Relationships: log into LionDesk, connect your Lone Wolf account and migrate your contact data. We run that path with a cleanup before and a check after. See LionDesk to Lone Wolf Relationships: what to check before you migrate.
If you would rather leave the Lone Wolf ecosystem, we work inside several other CRMs: BoldTrail, Lofty, GoHighLevel and Follow Up Boss. Our post on BoldTrail vs Lofty vs GoHighLevel compares three of them.
What we have done with a large database
For the Faruqi Team, we cleaned and rebuilt the tagging structure of a 14,000-contact BoldTrail database from scratch and segmented it by relationship type and recency. The method is the same one we would apply to a LionDesk export. Read more in the Faruqi Team case study.
What we do not know yet
Lone Wolf’s published migration notes cover contact data only. We cannot promise that tags, notes, texts or automations come across, so we test each one on a small batch first and tell you plainly what has to be rebuilt by hand. We also do not claim experience with every LionDesk feature, and we will say so on the consult.
